  • The varroa mite is now almost cosmopolitan, being found in Indonesia, Singapore, and USSR; it was found on Apis m. mellifera in Hong Kong) and Philippines. It has spread to the Peoples Republic of China), India, North Korea, Cambodia, Japan, Vietnam, Thialand, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, South Korea, Paraguay, Taiwan, Argentina, Poland, Romania, Urguay, Germany, Bangladesh, Brazil, Myanmar, Hungary, Tunisia, Greece, Iran, Libya, Turkey, Yugoslavia) and Lebanon.
  • Varroa mite is a large parasitic mite of honey bees. It feeds on the haemolymph of honeybee brood and adult bees.
