Host plants:
  • This species was first recorded in Australia in November 2004 in the Hunter Valley (Warkworth, Aberdeen) area of New South Wales.
  • The subgenus Seladonia occurs throughout the paleartic region, south into the Oriental region to southern India and Southeast Asia and south throughout the whole of Africa, including Madagascar and the Mascarene Islands. In the Western Hemisphere it is widespread from Alaska to Nova Scotia south to Columbia and there is one species in Brazil.
    There are 88 listed species and ALL are eusocial.
  • Halictids in general are polyletic, opportunistic foragers and are amongst the best of native bee pollinators.
