Ronald Hamlyn-Harris (1874-1953)

Born Eastbourne, England. Came to Australia in 1901. Science master, Toowoomba Grammar School 1903-10. Director of Queensland Museum 1910-17. Field staff of Hookwaorm Campaign doing malaria & filaria surveys throughout Queensland 1922-24. City entomologist, Bisbane City Council, 1928-33, the first full-time entomologist to be employed by an Australian municipality. Published on mosquito biology and natural controls. Lecturer in Zoology, University of Queensland 1937-43. Past President of Royal Soc. Queensland & Entomology Society of Queensland.
